Day Five: Time Travel

Important business first: Yesterday's draw winner was Gerri! Congratulations!
And the clever comment choice is Kay, because she's right about V.C. Andrews. It's quite an accomplishment to write books when you're dead.

Today's question: Consider moving one of your important characters to another time period. What would be his/her advantages and disadvantages there? (You can have two sentences here, one for each.)
Peg's anwer: Elizabeth would be a great modern businesswoman, having both the intelligence and the nerve to stage takeovers, risk capital, and lead stockholders into bold new ventures. She would not deal with the paparazzi well, though, since she is not good at holding her temper or suffering fools.

No sign of books yet. Sorry Barb, Nancy, and Penny!
Again, if Blogger won't let you comment, email me at pherring@m33access.com and I'll post for you. It isn't nice to me, either, but I can get in.

Party On!

  1. Hmmmm. Mitch Malone would be a perfect fit for feudal times. He would chafe at the knight's suit but would love to be able to put woman in the seen and not heard category as well as be able to carry them off instead of having a conversation with them.

  2. Anastasia would opt to travel back in time about twenty years before she met Dead Louse of a Spouse and not get involved with him, thus saving herself a lot of heartache and debt -- not to mention entanglements with Mafia loan sharks -- in the future. The downside would be her sons might be totally different if they'd had another father, and they're pretty cool kids right now, in spite of their father.

  3. My main character's pre-adolescent daughter, Jenna, would have loved being part of the westward expansion, a la the "Little House" books. Her tenacity and resourcefulness would have served her well, but she would have chafed at being told she couldn't do things because of her gender.

  4. Tony would have made a great frontier sheriff especially if he could take some of today's forensics with him--but--he'd probably die young without Kevlar and modern surgical procedures.

    Still no books???

  7. Gerrie says:
Happy that my name was drawn and for my gift. Thanks, Peg. Great blog:

My heroine, Ann Gavrion, lives in two multiverses on The Ghost Ship, but were I to write her in the Renaissance period she would have the advantage of great beauty, perhaps be a coutesan to artists or princes. Her disadvantage is that she is stubborn and independent and would knock heads with these same artists and princes.
